Camp Oochigeas
Oochigeas (or Ooch) is a camp for kids living with cancer. Founded in 1982, Ooch has partnered with The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto as the main sponsor hospital. The hospital decides which kids get to attend Ooch for the summer, as its doctors and nurses are surrounded by kids/patients whose lives could be enriched by the summer camp experience. The hospital embraces the belief that Ooch is part of the social cure for cancer, and they can point to several success stories over the last 20 years to prove this.
